Rotordynamics Tutorial
Free Webinar: Rotordynamics Tutorial
Join us Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. (U.S. Central Time)
Host: Thomas Kerr, Ph.D.
The purpose of this course is to provide the attendee with a basic understanding of rotordynamic theory, and to build on that theory with practical examples. At the end of this course, the attendee should understand the basic concepts of a Jeffcott Rotor and how this simple example illustrates the concepts of rotor critical speed, imbalance response plot, and rotor stability. This example will be expanded to inform the attendee on how more complex multi-degree of freedom systems are designed and analyzed using finite element methods.
