Free Webinar: Acoustic Induced Vibrations
Join us Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. (U.S. Central Time)
Host: Brandon Ridens
API Standard 521, which governs all compressor station and pipeline systems, mandates the evaluation of all piping branch connections for acoustic-induced-vibration fatigue failure. Typically, this screening is performed using Energy Institute guidelines; however, from extensive field experience and testing, many operators have found these guidelines to be overly conservative for predicting the actual failure risk in many designs. Strictly following this guideline can result in high costs and unnecessary changes. This webinar will discuss the available analysis options, standard design recommendations, and various modifications that can be implemented to lower the risk of AIV failures in existing pressure relieving systems.
