“High-Resolution Defect Imaging in Plates Using Magnetostrictive Transducer Arrays,” Sergey Vinogradov
This presentation will cover the applications of magnetostrictive sensors for corrosion mapping in heat exchanger shells, storage tank walls, and storage tank bottoms. The effectiveness of the technology will be demonstrated on mockup plates with a number of artificial anomalies representing pits, notches, and gradual wall loss. Two additional case studies will be demonstrated with the probe mounted on storage tank walls with extensive corrosion damage and on a tank bottom with the probe mounted on tank bottom extension.
