Free Webinar: H2 for Industrial Gas Turbines

Join us Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. (U.S. Central Time)

Host: Brian Connolly, Ph.D.

With the global interest in carbon reduction, industrial gas turbine operators are looking to augment and ultimately replace natural gas fuels (NG) with clean burning hydrogen (H2). While H2 and H2-NG blends offer elimination or reduction in carbon emissions, there are some unique challenges that must be addressed. The combustion properties of hydrogen differ from those of natural gas. Properties like higher flame speeds and higher flame temperatures yield increased risk for flashback and a potential for higher NOx emissions, respectively. This webinar reviews some fundamental characteristics of H2 combustion and identifies how these differ from typical combustion properties of NG fuels. Then existing and emerging technologies that utilize H2 fuels are discussed.
