This panel discussion will cover the following topics:

  • Benchmarking SAF project development and the ingredients required for success
  • Technology and feedstock options contributing to SAF scale up
  • How can airlines and industry agree upon offtake agreements longer than 1-2 years?
  • Securing a blend of debt and equity investment for SAF projects based on long-term take or pay offtake agreements
  • What policies can be put in place to support finance and de-risking of projects, and what global mechanisms can be used as examples?
  • How engaged with SAF is the finance community, and what can be done to increase engagement?

  • Understanding the key institutional blockers for developing game-changing aerospace technologies

  • Examining options for accessing capital and financing at different stages of development, and how to de-risk and become an attractive prospect
  • Overcoming the valley-of-death between venture capital and A/B round funding
  • Deep-dive on technology readiness levels—what types of projects are feasible and what may never make it off the ground?
  • Highlighting gaps in the market for zero emissions technology

“SAF Requirements for Flight and Understanding the Stages for Testing,” Francesco Di Sabatino

  • Aromatics blending requirements for different pathways vs SAF production inclusive of aromatics
  • At which stages of production and along the value chain is testing and certification required?
  • Identifying testing facilities and timelines for getting product tested
