This diagram shows the layout of the SwRI-designed CubeSat Imaging X-Ray Solar Spectrometer (CubIXSS), which has been selected by NASA as an upcoming space mission. CubIXSS will measure the abundances of elements in the Sun’s corona to determine the origins of hot plasma in solar flares and active regions.
