Houston, TX, United States
Go to International Refining and Petrochemical Conference (IRPC) Americas event

SwRI will be exhibiting at the International Refining and Petrochemical Conference (IRPC), booth no. 212.

Southwest Research Institute® (SwRI®) is an independent, nonprofit, applied research and development organization headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, on more than 1,500 acres with more than 3,100 employees and an annual research volume of nearly $844 million. We accelerate process development by expediting the design, build-up, and operation of pilot plants for various conventional and novel processes. Our capabilities include

  • working with a variety of pilot plants, including circulating fluidized beds, fixed bed reactors, and novel thermochemical reactor systems;
  • conducting laboratory validation or proof-of-concept experiments;
  • modifying and operating standard refinery pilot plants to produce test quantities of materials (liters to drums);
  • conducting process development R&D;
  • helping our clients troubleshoot, optimize, and scale up chemical and petroleum processes;
  • provide services such as pyrolysis, gasification, chemical looping, hydrotreating, hydrocracking, and distillation;
  • independent third-party testing and analysis for the oil and gas industries.

Please join us for the following presentation:

Wednesday, Oct. 2
2:10 p.m. – 2:40 p.m.
“Sustainable Process Development and Refinery Integration,” Veshal Venkat

This presentation will explore SwRI’s cutting-edge work in sustainable process development and refinery integration. Attendees will gain insights into how laboratory-scale innovations are translated to demonstration-scale processes, with a focus on systems that seamlessly integrate with both conventional refinery operations and emerging renewable technologies. Through real-world examples, the talk will highlight the Institute’s efforts in developing sustainable solutions, optimizing refinery processes, and enabling a smoother transition to renewable chemical processes.
