SwRI has been involved in robotics R&D for over 30 years for connected-automated vehicles, defense ground robotics, fabrication, maritime/naval uses, and space robotics. SwRI has been involved in AI R&D since the 1980s, focusing over the past 15 years on automotive sensing, intelligence/surveillance, sports/tactical/industrial athletes, and medical-related AI such as digital pathology.
