We operate a number of high-pressure, high-temperature autoclaves with the ability to monitor electrochemical conditions. Autoclave capabilities include stirring and pressure ratings up to 20,000 psi at 650 °F. Staff members also conduct full-scale testing in hazardous conditions in accordance with API 16C specification.

Evaluation of Materials Performance in the Energy Industry
Evaluation of the performance of materials in high-pressure, high-temperature, aggressive environments encountered in the energy industries has been an integral part of SwRI programs for more than four decades.
Polymer High-Pressure High-Temperature Exposure Testing in Sour (H2S) or Sweet (CO2) Environments
SwRI is working with industry to determine material compatibility and degradation resistance of polymeric and composite materials in high-pressure hydrogen sulfide (HP H2S) sour service environments, and has developed HP H2S sour capabilities up to 20,000 psi and 650°F for testing in aggressive toxic environments.
Fixture Testing
SwRI is working with industry to determine the sealing integrity, compatibility and degradation resistance of seal packet assemblies residing inside choke valves and wellhead equipment exposed to high-pressure hydrogen sulfide (HP H2S) sour service environments.
