Southwest Research Institute is excited to announce the second Automotive Corrosion Symposium scheduled for April 11-12, 2024. The Symposium is soliciting papers that provide perspective on automotive corrosion concerns facing the industry, precompetitive research aimed at addressing corrosion and corrosion mitigation strategies, governmental policies that have the potential to affect automotive corrosion, and lessons learned within the industry.
Accepting Poster Abstracts
While submission for speaker abstracts is closed, we are pleased to continue accepting Poster Abstracts through March 31, 2024. The theme of 2024 symposium is “Applied Corrosion Science for Next-Gen Vehicles.” We are seeking topics that provide perspective on automotive corrosion concerns facing the industry, precompetitive research, governmental policies, and lessons learned within the industry.
Abstract Topics
Topics sought include:
- Corrosion Testing and Prediction (correlation of accelerated lab test data to road data, service life prediction, prediction of failure modes/mechanisms, simulation, in-situ testing, etc.)
- Corrosion Protection Strategies (design strategies, materials and material combinations, surface treatments, coatings, pigments/corrosion inhibitors, sealants, waxes, etc.)
- Corrosion in alternative propulsion and energy storage systems
- Corrosion considerations for new automotive materials and processes
- Corrosion Case Studies
