H2-ICE2 Consortium Kick-Off
San Antonio, TX
United States

The Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine (H2-ICE2) Consortium is holding a meeting to kick off the second iteration for current and prospective members. Hosted by Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), H2-ICE2 gathers engine and truck manufacturers, fuel and lubricant providers and Tier-I suppliers with a unified vision of advancing sustainable mobility through innovative hydrogen engine technology.
In 2022-2024, the first iteration of the consortium developed an H2-ICE demonstration vehicle that produces ultra-low NOx and CO2 emissions while still providing enough torque and power for most heavy-duty applications.
In 2025-2026, the second iteration will leverage the hydrogen-fueled, Class-8 demonstration vehicle to focus on several topics of interest, including: vehicle performance, fuel economy, unique and extreme conditions, aftertreatment control, exhaust thermal management, in-use emissions measurements, vehicle control strategies, safety, diagnostics and other topics.
Location
The event takes place 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the SwRI campus located at 6220 Culebra Road, San Antonio, Texas. A light breakfast will be served prior to the 9:00 a.m. meeting start.
