“Developing a Spacecraft Digital Twin to Parallelize Flight Software and Hardware Development,” Ruth Adams and Dana Dailey

This presentation will explore the creation of a digital twin for spacecraft peripheral interfaces, which allows for earlier flight software testing without a need for physical hardware. The complete digital model was based off the Cyclone Global Navigation Satellite System (CYGNSS) spacecraft using the Renode and Verilator toolsets to create a digital twin. This approach was useful in proving the concept improves flight software fidelity but would not be ideal for simulation of more complex systems.
