We develop software and modeling tools to apply computational electromagnetics (CEM) that test magnet design, induction fields, and antennas used in electronics and robotics. Historically, many of our electronics systems and robotics projects have relied on the use of electric, magnetic, or electromagnetic technologies as part of solutions for clients. While SwRI engineers often provide quality solutions using standard design techniques, some problems are best solved with the aid of computer modeling. SwRI develops custom software and uses commercial programs for computational electromagnetics research and testing. These tools include feature such as method of moments, finite element method, finite-difference time-domain method, and hybrid methods such as UTD and PO.
